Drones, Jams and Dungarees

In this Week of Parkour 5 (April 3rd, 2018), Daniel falls in love with parkour dungarees, Motus and Storm team up and much more.

First up we have, ‘Drone parkour free’ by Motus and Storm Free Run the game is really raised in this video as Giles and Kai up the ante by including six athletes rather than one. Each shot is trying to push the bar whether it is beautiful flip-pres to incredibly hard one-shots. The scenery in this video is seriously taking it to the next step, it’s just a shame about the weather. The video really shows the two teams, split by generations moving at a high level. Moves like Luke Stone’s 360 strides to Phil Doyle’s massive strides moving at the same time. With Motus bringing the technique and Storm bringing the power. It is an amazing video to watch and really showcases how the London scene is at the top of the game in producing high-quality content.

Around Easter, we had the Motus Jam and as usual, the first person to release a video was Dominic Di Tommaso [Dom] summing up what happened at the jam. From the video, you can really see that Dom and Jay Clark were really pushing themselves at this jam. Dom may put out loads of videos but it is hard not to watch the content when he and the people he hangs with are where it is happening and for now he seems to be like a powerhouse that can not be stopped.

Next, we have Etre Fort who released a video to show off their new dungarees. It’s an absurd video that was produced to such a high level. They got Joel Eggimann to do the movements, the shots are beautiful and he’s in dungarees! When it comes to marketing strategies, we love it. The content is original and we hope to see more like this from Etre Fort as the content is original and really resonates with us and the community. Parkour dungarees who would have thought, but we definitely want to see more!

Instead, of having a team of the week we are doing a movement of the week and that is because we are showcasing Cosmin Marius who Storm have kept showcasing on their Facebook page. This is because he’s putting out high-quality movement videos. Everything he does is horribly technical but in a good way. His videos show the weirdest and wackiest challenges that are deep-rooted in parkour. So go and watch his stuff or you are going to miss out!

Now for this week, we have three mini-movements. First up is Darryl Stingley for his movement in gym recently which has been absolutely amazing. His long line shot went so well with the rap music to create a nice vibe that enticed you into rewatching it over and over. Often in long technical lines, you only find one or two really hard movements but so much of Darryl’s movements in this video are so hard but are fluid and consistent. Next up, we got Ernest Lubonja doing a huge standing pre to an upright pole smaller than his feet. Finally, we have Anton Lykhin doing a gnarly roof-gap with a huge drop on either side, that looks mentally challenging to do!
